End time

6:00pm

Duration

4h

2:00pm: You will meet your guide Mary Angela to enjoy a panoramic walking tour around Perugia’s historical center. Perugia is the capital of Umbria and it is rich in cultural heritage, medieval architecture and incredible landscapes.

The old town, in fact, is full of stunning viewpoints and balconies from which you can take in sweeping eye-shots of the entire region, also known as the green heart of Italy.

You will indulge in the crisp, fresh air and the beauty of the rolling countryside stretching to the horizon.

2:30pm: You will continue walking to a local Deruta style ceramic shop, where an exclusive hand painting demonstration will be hosted. Deruta is a town in Umbria whose long history of ceramic production dates back to the Middle Ages.

Once at the bottega, you will meet Maria Rita, second generation owner, who will proudly tell you everything about the family’s ancient crafts and the origins of this famous pottery.

She will show you her store and demonstrate how, with her graceful and patient hands, she brings to life the timeless beauty of the Deruta-style art while hand-painting a ceramic vase.

4:00pm/4:30pm: Since Perugia is internationally known to be the capital of Italian chocolate, you will stop and have a fantastic chocolate making workshop at one of the last existing chocolate laboratories of the historical center. Once here, you will meet Giulia, one of the owners and expert chocolatier, and Mary Angela will guide you through a highly informative presentation on cocoa and its origins. You will learn all of the secrets behind the traditional Peruginian art of hand making chocolate and a surprise tasting will delight your tastebuds as you craft your own sweet creation.

6:00pm: End of tour and farewell to Mary Angela.

Tour is made up of: Native English speaking tour leader guidance & assistance, visit to a local ceramic store, ceramic demonstration, visit to a chocolate making lab & chocolate making session.

Groups go from a minimum of 2 people up.
