10:00am: After breakfast, you will meet your tour leader Mary Angela to head to Assisi, famous for being the birthplace of Saint Francis, symbol of peace, compassion, and simplicity
10:30am: You will begin your walk through the Assisi’s main drag, where ancient stone walls and artisan traditions still live side by side. You will step in one of the last remaining leather stores in town, a place where the scent of leather will instantly transport you back in time.
Once there, you will meet Fabrizio, the master craftsman, who has dedicated his life to the art of Made in Italy leatherwork. He will welcome you into his world and share the story behind each creation. Every piece, in fact, comes to life through a meticulous process that begins with carefully selecting the perfect hide and continues through tanning, dying, stitching and ultimately transforming leather into unique and timeless pieces of fashion.
As Fabrizio speaks, he will share his passion for his work, and you’ll have time to browse around his store, where unique, high-quality pieces carry not just craftsmanship, but the soul of an ancient tradition.
1:00pm: You will head to Assisi’s main square and have lunch at one of the most notable family run trattoria in the area. Menu is à la carte so you can choose among some of the most mouthwatering dishes and wines of the Umbrian tradition.
2:30pm: You will have some time to wander through the lively main square, soaking in its vibrant atmosphere and historic charm. While here, Mary Angela will lead you to the town’s most beloved pastry shop, where the sweet aroma of freshly baked treats promises a taste of Assisi you won't forget.
3:30pm: You will meet your historical guide and visit the magnificent Basilica di San Francesco which is made up of an upper and lower section. You will have time to admire their interiors full of impressive frescos and learn more about Saint Francis’ life. Both churches, in fact, greatly celebrate Italy’s patron saint who became popular all around the world for his humble way of living, his love for nature, his preaching on peace and brotherhood among people.
5:30pm: End of the tour and farewell to Mary Angela.
