Immerse yourself in the flowery alleyways of Spello and meet a local olive oil producer for an exclusive EVO DOP tasting.

9:00am | 5:30pm | 8,30 h |
Start Time | End Time | Duration |
9:00: After breakfast, you will meet your tour leader Mary Angela to head to Spello, the so called flower town of Umbria.
9:30am: You will walk through this quaint hamlet and get a thrill out of the most beautiful views Umbria has to offer. Because of its incredibly floral countryside, Spello is also famous of its Infiorata, an outstanding flower festival which takes place every year at the feast of Corpus Domini. For this religious celebration, the town’s streets are covered with one-of-a-kind flower carpets which are magically put together by the local Spellani overnight.
You will browse around its cute little allies and you will be captured by the calm and slow pace Umbrian way of living.
You will meet an authentic off-the-beaten-path linen clothing producer and you will enjoy its latest and entirely handmade fashion creations.
11:00am: You will then head to a local olive oil mill where Yuri, one of the owners, will share very interesting tips on extra virgin olive oil and its benefits. A tasting will be served on toasted bruschetta so that you can savor the delicate and mildly spicy texture of Spello’s EVO green juice.
12:30pm: You will stop for lunch at a local trattoria where you can choose from a great selection of exquisite dishes from the Umbrian cuisine and pair them with a nice glass of local wine.
2:00pm: You will then head to Assisi and get to its main square. Once here, Mary Angela will show you the best pastry shop in town and introduce you to a unique leather manufacturer, one of the last remaining in the historical center.
3:30pm: You will meet your historical guide and visit the magnificent Basilica di San Francesco which is made up of an upper and lower section. You will have time to admire their interiors full of impressive frescos and learn more about Saint Francis’ life. Both churches, in fact, greatly celebrate Italy’s patron saint who became popular all around the world for his humble way of living, his love for nature, his preaching on peace and brotherhood among people.
5:30pm: End of the tour and farewell to Mary Angela.
