Walk through the lovely streets of Orvieto and enjoy a peaceful lunch overlooking the beautiful Orvieto Classico wine area.

9:30am: After breakfast, you will meet Mary Angela to head to Orvieto, one of most beautiful cities in Umbria, An authentic open air museum, Orvieto is more than three thousand years old. Built on a volcanic hill, it mostly flourished during the Etruscan and the Medieval times, representing a prominent historical and cultural hub for all of Italy.

10:00am: Once in the city centre, you will meet your historical guide, who will walk you around the town. She will show you the most important sites and lead you inside the impressive Duomo di Orvieto. A magnificent Gothic cathedral, the church is both a religious and architectural landmark.

Built in the 14th century, it is, in fact, renowned for its stunning facade, intricate artwork and famous frescoes of the Last Judgment from Luca Signorelli, an impressive local Renaissance painter.

12:00am: You will leave the historical centre and head to a local winery where a mouthwatering light lunch will be served. You will meet Angelica, your host, who will walk you through the estate and show you the different wine making areas.

Thanks to its volcanic and rocky soil, Orvieto offers a wide range of remarkable wines, the so called Orvieto DOC. Fresh, crisp, citrusy and tart, Orvieto Classico are mostly white wines and they are a perfect blend of different local grape varieties such as: Grechetto and Proca6nico. In addition, the area is renowned for its Muffati sweet dessert wines whose making is a pretty interesting process.

Once at the winery, you will have an interesting wine tasting session which will take place during lunch. Orvieto Classico and Muffati will be perfectly paired with your dishes for an incredible and unforgettable food and wine experience.

4:30pm: End of the tour and farewell to Mary Angela.
